Who Are Your Favorite Movie Villains?.....

What characters do you love to hate in the movies? Some villains just carry a movie. They are so terrible, so disgusting, that you can't wait till they're out of a scene. Then you can't wait till they come back.

Most movies have a bad guy. Or at least something bad that causes a problem. But it's not necessarily a villain. It could be something like Nazis, prejudice or injustice. Even the Godfather movies were loaded with murderers. But who was the villain? Fredo? Even Don Fanuci was a good dresser.

So here is a list of some of my favorite villains. They all just make me sick!

  • Nurse Ratched - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Played by Louise Fletcher in the 1975 movie. She played a cold, heartless charge nurse at an old style mental institution. She was just plain mean, driving the patient's crazier than they were. On top of that, she was anti-fun! What the hell!
Nurse Ratched giving the stink eye.
  • Anton Chigurth - No Country For Old Men An Oscar winning performance by Javier Bardam in the 2005 movie. He plays a emotionless hitman sent to retrieve money from a drug deal gone bad. But he murders anyone and anything in the way. This guy kills people like I have a cup of coffee. Casually and often. He gives a whole different meaning to "flip a coin" too.
  • Annie Wilkes - Misery  Played by Kathy Bates in the 1987 movie. She kidnaps and then horribly  maimed her favorite author so he won't leave. The things you do for love.
    Annie Wilkes - Ouch!
  • Scar - The Lion King Voiced by Jeremy Irons. He plays the devious and dark brother of King Mufasa. He's nothing but trouble for Simba. A total creep.
  • Alex Forrest - Fatal Attraction An Oscar winning performance by Glenn Close. Easily the hottest villain of all time. She is scorned after a one-night stand with Michael Douglass and makes life hell for him and his family. But who the hell would boil somebody's pet bunny? The movie certainly made an impression for a generation of men with wandering eyes.
Alex was beautiful. But she had problems.
  • Joker - The Dark Knight This was Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance in 2008. It's hard to take a character in a Batman movie seriously, but Ledger pulls it off. The Joker not only hates Batman, but it seems he hates society itself. It just makes you want to take a shower after watching this. Ledger died shortly after filming which gives this an even more chilling feeling.
  • Darth Vader - Star Wars You know this character makes an impact when he he is known for just breathing. He can destroy worlds with his death star. He wreck's Luke's life when he tells him, "I'm your Father!" I suppose at the end of Episode VI, he expresses remorse in his death scene. But he'll always be the bad guy to me.
  • Dr. Hannibal Lecter - The Silence of the Lambs The Oscar goes to Anthony Hopkins for this 1991 performance. Lecter is the ultimate evil villain. Very intelligent, no jail can hold him. Your mind is not safe when talking to him. Not only will he kill you, he will eat you too! He even knows what wine to serve with you! Throughout this entire movie, you are worried about the lovely young FBI Agent Clarice Starling. How could this inexperienced young Agent deal with Dr. Lecter when he gets in her head? This is a great movie with maybe the greatest villain. Dr. Lecter also makes appearances in other sequels too. but nothing beats the original.
Dr. Lecter was spooky - even behind bars.
These are some of my favorite bad guys, and girls. They might not all be evil, but they all certainly had problems. One thing for sure. They made these movies great!
